The Rose Inn has partnered with Gringos Nacho Factory to launch a fortnightly Tex-Mex pop-up.
The Rose Inn in Norwich has partnered with Gringos Nacho Factory to launch a fortnightly Tex-Mex pop-up at the pub on Queens Road. The partnership brings together landlady Dawn Hopkins and Andrew Skalli, owner of the mobile catering business.
Ms Hopkins said there has been demand for Tex-Mex food in Norwich following the closures of Mexican restaurants Pedro's in 2019 and Jive Kitchen & Bar last year. She noted there are no pubs in the city that specialise in Tex-Mex. 'There seems to be a void for Tex-Mex in the city,' she said.
Mr Skalli established Gringos Nacho Factory in 2017 to create Tex-Mex-inspired street food for public and private events. The pop-up launched at 6pm on 22 October with a menu of burritos and rice bowls. The menu alternates each fortnight between burritos and rice bowls one week and tacos and nachos the next. The partnership followed a successful trial in September when Mr Skalli served loaded fries during a quiz night at the Rose Inn.
