Summarised from Isle of Wight County Press's report · Updated 22 Oct, 15:58 · Archive

Simon Ernest finished fifth in the Gorrick Autumn Series after returning to racing following a difficult year.

Simon Ernest of Wightlink CRT competed in the first round of the Gorrick Autumn Series in Farnborough on Sunday, October 18, finishing fifth in the Grand Vet category. He started from the second row on the technical, fast-paced trails, but found himself stuck behind slower riders in tight singletrack sections early in the race. He climbed into fifth place during the opening lap and finished just four seconds behind fourth place.

Ernest said he was happy with his performance and identified clear areas to work on in training. He set a podium finish as his objective for the next race in November. He thanked sponsors Wightlink, Island Renewables, Wight Mountain, Rapanui, Kreative Studios, and Adrian's Bike Shop for their support.
