A new book is bringing more than 900 years of royal history to life. Woodstock and Blenheim Royal Park, 900 Years of History will be officially launched on Saturday, November 7, at 10am outside Woodstock Town Hall.

The book explores the origins of the royal park, first enclosed by Henry I, and tells the broader story of Woodstock, Blenheim, and neighbouring villages. It covers royal connections, changes to the landscape, local industries and crafts, wildlife, and the people who have shaped this part of Oxfordshire.

The 196-page volume is illustrated with 94 images and priced at £19.95. Contributing authors include Aidan Salter, Elizabeth Poskitt, Adrian DelNevo, Robert Edwards and John Banbury, with the foreword written by Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill. Profits from the book will be donated to charity and it will be available at the launch, from the farmers' market, and afterwards at Woodstock Bookshop, The Oxfordshire Museum and the Blenheim Gift shop.
