Swindon bus routes overhauled to improve college arrival times

Summarised from 4 outlets · Updated 27 Oct, 15:29 · Archive

Swindon's Bus Company has announced timetable changes to multiple routes serving Cirencester College, effective from Monday, November 2. The changes are aimed at improving arrival times at the college, with revised morning timetables on the C1, C2, C3, C7, C8, C9, C10, C53, C54 and C62 routes to help ensure students reach the college before lessons begin.

A new route, the C4, will be introduced, starting at Snodshill roundabout and travelling via Dorcan Way and Covingham Drive to Ermin Street and the Rat Trap before heading to the college. Some existing routes will have been changed in terms of where they begin or the areas they travel through during their journeys. Students have been advised on the best buses to use depending on where in Swindon they live.

The C3 route's afternoon journey will be rerouted via Orbital Shopping Centre, allowing students the option to shop before heading home. The C5 route will now begin in Liddington/Wanborough, serving Covingham, then the New Inn, Stratton Green and Kingsdown, before proceeding to the college to improve journey time. Students who previously used the C11 from these areas should now use the C5.

The C6 route will no longer serve Ermin Street and Kingsdown, and will run directly to the college after serving Stratton Sainsbury's to improve journey time. Students in Ermin Street should now use the C4, while those in Kingsdown should switch to the C5. The C9 route, after Regent Circus, will serve the Spring Garden and Fire Station stops, then run non-stop to Stratton Crossroads.
