A 16-part audio drama adapting Young Bond: SilverFin has been released with actress Miriam Margolyes as the villain.

Young Bond: SilverFin, a 16-part full-cast audio drama, has been released on Thursday, October 29. The series adapts Charlie Higson's 2005 novel and stars Isaac Rouse, known for The Crown and Get Even, as teenage James Bond. Rather than following the experienced secret agent familiar from films, the story follows Bond during his formative years at Eton College before an adventure takes him to the Scottish Highlands.

Oxford-born actress Miriam Margolyes, 85, plays villain Cleek MacSawney, the brutal servant of Lord Randolph Hellebore. The character has been changed from male to female for the new adaptation, with the approval of Charlie Higson and Ian Fleming Publications. Margolyes, perhaps best known to younger audiences for playing Professor Pomona Sprout in the Harry Potter films, said of her role: 'Cleek is a violent, probably insane semi-criminal who works for Lord Hellebore on his estate in Scotland. You wouldn't want to meet her on a dark night, that's for sure. I do enjoy playing nasty people!'

Margolyes was born in Oxford in 1941 and educated at Oxford High School before attending Newnham College, Cambridge. Her career has included Blackadder, Little Dorrit, Babe, Mulan and Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence, for which she won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress.
