Pest-control company Orkin has ranked the rattiest cities in America based on rodent treatments.
Pest-control company Orkin has released its latest ranking of the rattiest cities in America, based on new home rodent treatments between August 2025 and August 2026. Los Angeles, California topped the list for the second consecutive year. The company attributed this to the city's year-round mild weather, dense neighbourhoods and abundant access to food, water and shelter.
No Florida cities made the top ten, and Jacksonville did not appear on the list at all, though several Florida metros ranked within the top 50. Orkin National Technical Director Dr. Shannon Sked said that rodents are highly adaptable and can thrive in communities across the country wherever they can find food, water and shelter.
Orkin warned that rodents can cause structural damage to homeowners' properties and spread diseases, meaning prevention and early detection are important for all homeowners regardless of location.
