Ofsted has awarded Menston Primary School strong standards for attendance, behaviour, early years and personal development.

Ofsted has praised Menston Primary School following its latest inspection, awarding it strong standards in three areas: attendance and behaviour, early years provision, and personal development and wellbeing. Moorlands Learning Trust, which oversees the school, said they were 'delighted to celebrate the positive outcome' of the inspection.

Inspectors described pupils as 'happy, safe and proud to belong' to the school, highlighting its caring and inclusive culture. Bullying was described as rare, with concerns dealt with quickly and effectively. Pupils understand the school's motto, 'Making the world a better place', and positive relationships create a calm and purposeful environment where children thrive.

Inspectors praised leaders for working closely with families to overcome barriers to regular attendance and for successfully improving attendance among disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and disabilities. Early years provision was recognised as a particular strength, with children benefiting from an ambitious curriculum, high-quality phonics teaching and nurturing relationships. A high proportion of children reach a good level of development by the end of Reception and are well prepared for Year 1.

Personal development and wellbeing was another area singled out for praise. Inspectors said pupils benefit from a wide range of visits, residential trips, leadership opportunities and extracurricular activities that help develop confidence, resilience and independence.
