A personal trainer was among five men accused of attempting to stab two brothers to death in County Antrim.

A personal trainer was among five men accused of a premeditated revenge attack on two brothers outside their home in County Antrim on 22 October. Caelainn Campbell, 26, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court on charges of attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possessing a knife with intent to commit murder. District Judge Stephen Keown described it as 'a premeditated and serious revenge group attack… clearly involving weapons'. Campbell was refused bail and remanded in custody.

The court heard that Martin and Danny Steele had been drinking at a pub near Ballyclare with other men including Jordan Campbell, 32. An exchange of words led to a confrontation in the smoking area where Martin Steele allegedly slapped Jordan Campbell on the side of the head, knocking him to the ground. An hour later, Michael Campbell, 46, allegedly phoned Danny Steele and asked both brothers to come out of their house.

Five men then emerged from a Nissan Qashqai to launch the attack by the Templepatrick Road. Martin Steele suffered eight puncture wounds requiring 38 stitches and a laceration to his liver. His brother Danny sustained significant facial bruising and swelling. Three other men—Jordan Campbell, Michael Campbell and Sam Kirkpatrick, 31—have already been charged with the same offences.
