Padel courts planned for Oxfordshire business park
Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 31 Oct, 06:22 · Archive
Plans have been submitted for four outdoor padel courts at Grove Business Park in the Vale of White Horse, with hopes they will open in spring 2027. The courts would be built in front of TFD Health & Fitness Gym and include an external seating area and a kiosk.
Padel is an increasingly popular recreational racquet sport that blends elements of tennis, squash and badminton.
Paul Arnold of atlp consulting, development manager for the park on behalf of the Oxford Endowment Fund, said the facility would add to the park's expanding amenities. 'Padel is such a growth activity and its social and inclusive nature makes it particularly well suited to community-focused environments, encouraging people to participate, exercise and connect with others,' he said.
The Oxford Endowment Fund acquired the 260,000 sq ft park in 2022 and aims to expand it with up to 377,000 sq ft of new workspace. The padel courts are part of broader development plans at the site, which also include three new buildings totalling 87,500 sq ft for technology, research and development, and laboratory use.
