Andy Dunbobbin, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, has commended the North Wales Police Cadets for their contribution to communities.

Andy Dunbobbin, North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, visited Police Headquarters in Colwyn Bay on October 6 to commend North Wales Police Cadets during National Cadet Week, which runs from October 5 to 11 and celebrates cadet forces across the UK.

Mr Dunbobbin said it was 'a privilege to spend time with our Police Cadets and see first-hand the enthusiasm, confidence and commitment they bring to the programme'. He described them as a 'hugely positive contribution to our communities', noting that cadets 'learn responsibility, leadership and teamwork while gaining experiences that help prepare them for adult life and future careers'.

During his visit, Mr Dunbobbin met with Central Division police cadets and heard about their planned involvement in the Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Day parades in Caernarfon and Llandudno. The cadets also took part in a quiz on policing and community safety.

North Wales Police Cadets are volunteers aged 13–18 from across North Wales who support community projects, gain public service experience, and develop skills in first aid, leadership and teamwork. The Central Division covers Conwy and Denbighshire, while the Eastern Division covers Flintshire and Wrexham. Throughout National Cadet Week, cadet units across the UK have opened their doors to schools, families and communities to highlight opportunities available through the programme.
