Five teenagers were stabbed at a Halloween party in Chandler's Ford on Saturday night, with two boys arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Five teenagers aged 16 and 17 were stabbed at a supervised Halloween party in Park Road, Chandler's Ford, on Saturday night. Police were called shortly after 10.30pm. Officers were told that an uninvited group of males had gained entry to the party by climbing over a garden fence before attacking guests in the garden and surrounding roads.

Two teenage boys, aged 17 and 16, both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody. Two victims remain in hospital with serious injuries, including one 17-year-old who is in a life-threatening condition. The other three victims have been discharged.

Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie, the senior investigating officer, said the arrests were a "significant development" in an investigation which had "moved at pace". She urged anyone with information to contact police, particularly those with mobile phone, dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage of Park Road and the surrounding area. Local neighbourhood officers are visiting schools and colleges to offer advice and support to those affected. Two of the injured teenagers are believed to be students at Barton Peveril Sixth Form College.
