Drug dealer jailed for hiding cocaine in Coca-Cola can

Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 27 Oct, 12:02 · Archive

A man has been jailed for more than two years after police found cocaine hidden in a modified Coca-Cola can.

Verneque Valenrino, 27, of Staines-upon-Thames, was stopped by police in a blue Honda Jazz on Pine Street, Aylesbury, on 16 July after officers observed what they believed to be a drug deal. A search of the vehicle revealed 24 wraps of cocaine hidden inside a modified Coca-Cola can, along with a mobile phone and £570 in cash. Valenrino was arrested the same day and charged the following day.

He was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on 23 October after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, acquiring, using or possessing criminal property, and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

PC Levi Fensom from the Buckinghamshire Local Proactive Team said the sentence demonstrated the force's commitment to disrupting drug supply in the area. 'Valenrino attempted to conceal cocaine inside a disguised drinks can, but thanks to the vigilance and proactive work of officers, the drugs were recovered before they could be sold,' Fensom said.
