Thames Valley Police have issued a warning after receiving multiple reports of aggressive and abusive cyclists and e-bike riders in Didcot.
The police appeal was prompted by an incident on 7 September at about 6.30pm near Didcot Road and Great Western Park. A man riding an electric dirt-style bike approached a dog walker on the footpath. Following a verbal altercation, the rider allegedly threatened to hit the victim with their bike and run over their dog before leaving the area.
Following the initial appeal on 12 October, Thames Valley Police's neighbourhood policing team for Didcot and Wallingford said several further reports have been made about cyclists behaving aggressively or being verbally abusive towards pedestrians across Didcot. A police spokesperson said: 'While some of these reports include similar descriptions of those involved, others contain very limited information.'
Police encouraged anyone who experiences or witnesses such incidents to report them via 999 at the time or via 101 or online afterwards. They asked people to include details such as the perpetrator's approximate age, height, sex, ethnicity and clothing, and descriptions of their bike or vehicle.
