A suspected pot plant thief was caught on security camera making an audible noise while stealing plants from a Mandurah home.

A suspected pot plant thief was caught on security camera during a night raid on a Mandurah home. The neighbour whose Ring camera recorded the incident, Mel, discovered that plants had been stolen. When she and her friend Karla reviewed the footage, they found an unexpected moment in the recording that caught the thief bending down during the raid.

Karla, who said she had already had multiple plants stolen throughout the year, initially watched the footage with anger at the suspected thief. However, when they heard the unexpected noise captured on the recording, their anger quickly turned to laughter. Karla described the moment: 'One moment we're like just talking profanity, thinking what a low life, you know. Next minute, we're holding on to each other for dear life, crying, trying to stand up because of that noise.' She suggested that the moment may have been evidence of something more serious occurring for the thief during the theft.
