Reece Mastin, who won The X Factor in 2011, is performing at Perth Telethon this weekend for the first time since 2014. The Australian singer, now based in Victoria's Mount Macedon, is currently touring Australia and New Zealand with new music as part of The New Dawn Tour.

Mastin said he is excited to reconnect with local audiences and create new memories in Western Australia. 'It has been a minute,' he told outlets in September. He described Telethon as unique in bringing together the entertainment industry 'where everybody was there for really this one reason'.

For his performance, Mastin plans to deliver two high-energy tunes suited to the event's atmosphere. His back catalogue includes hits such as Good Night, Shout it Out, and Rock$tar. He said his set will feature 'party vibes' with 'nice and loud' guitars, though he will not 'push it too far' or 'get too shouty or aggressive'.
