The Telegraph has ranked secondary schools in Sutton and Croydon using a range of measures, with schools given overall scores out of 40.
The Telegraph has published a new school league table ranking secondary schools across Sutton and Croydon. Schools were compared using a range of measures including Attainment 8 scores, the proportion of pupils achieving grade 7 or higher in English and maths, and development scores.
In Sutton, four schools shared the highest score of 37 out of 40. Nonsuch High School for Girls was rated 'Very good' with 93.1 per cent of pupils achieving grade 7 or higher in English and maths and an Attainment 8 score of 81.8. Wallington County Grammar School achieved 93.3 per cent on that measure with an Attainment 8 score of 82. Wallington High School for Girls and Wilson's School also scored 37. Glenthorne High School and Sutton Grammar School followed on 36. Five Sutton schools appeared in the Telegraph's top-school rankings nationally, led by Wilson's in 48th place.
In Croydon, Coloma Convent Girls' School achieved the highest score of 34 out of 40 and was rated 'Very good', with an Attainment 8 score of 56.8. Harris Academy Purley and Riddlesdown Collegiate both scored 32 out of 40, while Harris City Academy Crystal Palace scored 30. Some schools were excluded from the rankings due to data issues: Oaks Park High School in Sutton could not be accurately scored because Telegraph listings showed data for the Ilford school instead, and in Croydon, Ark Blake Academy, St Joseph's College and St Mary's RC High School were excluded for similar reasons.
