The British drama Amazing Grace will be shown at The Scala in Prestatyn on November 9, hosted by Coronation Street actor Kimberley Hart-Simpson.

Amazing Grace, a British drama about hope and human connection, will be shown at The Scala in Prestatyn at 7pm on Monday, 9 November. This is days after its UK cinema release on 6 November. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with writer, producer and co-lead Daniel P. Lewis and director Ruth Carney, hosted by Coronation Street actor and businesswoman Kimberley Hart-Simpson, who is from Rhyl.

The film stars Hannah Walters as Grace, a crisis helpline volunteer who forms an unexpected bond with Walter, played by Lewis. As their conversations develop, Walter confronts childhood trauma, addiction and shame. The film marks director Ruth Carney's feature debut; her television credits include Shetland and Brassic. Shot in and around Liverpool in eleven days, Amazing Grace features BAFTA-nominated actor James Nelson-Joyce, BAFTA winner Chanel Cresswell, and BAFTA nominee Sonny Walker, alongside Kelly Condron, Angela Lonsdale, Connor McIntyre and Raphael Murphy.

Lewis described the story as 'incredibly personal' and said it explores 'things we often struggle to talk about – trauma, shame, isolation and mental health, but ultimately it is about hope, connection and the possibility that being heard can change something'. The Prestatyn screening is part of a series of special events across the UK, including in Liverpool, Leicester, New Brighton and Newcastle upon Tyne.
