Democratic candidate Dr Annie Andrews and Republican Senator Darline Graham held final campaign events ahead of Tuesday's election.

Campaign events reached a peak in the final days before South Carolina's Senate election on Tuesday. Democratic nominee Dr Annie Andrews held a rally on election eve in Charleston, where hundreds of supporters gathered holding signs reading 'South Carolina first' and 'Vote for cheaper gasoline'.

Andrews delivered a 10-minute speech encouraging voters to choose her as the next senator. She voiced support for Medicare, women's right to choose, tax cuts for working families, lowering diesel prices, healthcare access and term limits. She told attendees it was their responsibility to show Washington that South Carolina could move past divisiveness and was 'not for sale'. 'I got involved because I care, not because someone handed me the job,' Andrews said. 'I will always take my direction from South Carolina, not Washington, D.C.'

Andrews has described the race against Senator Darline Graham as a toss-up and urged supporters to continue canvassing voters through election day. She was supported by several speakers including South Carolina State Senator Deon Tedder, who noted that President Trump had campaigned for Graham twice, arguing this showed the race was competitive. 'The amount of money that's been spent on ads just tells you that they're afraid,' Tedder said. 'They're afraid that this seat can flip.'
