Norfolk's award-winning PrimEvil scare attraction is auditioning more than 230 applicants to fill 132 scare actor roles for its 13-night Halloween run.
Norfolk's award-winning Halloween scare attraction PrimEvil is recruiting scare actors for its 2024 season. More than 230 people have applied for roles at the attraction, which runs for 13 nights at Roarr! dinosaur theme park in Lenwade. The attraction will employ a 200-strong team, including 132 scare actors spread across six immersive haunts, welcoming up to 2,000 visitors a night.
PrimEvil, now in its 17th year, attracts 25,000 thrill-seekers each season and has promised this Halloween will be its biggest and most terrifying yet. Auditions take place over three nights, with applicants split into smaller groups and scored by judges. Ben Francis, park director and PrimEvil manager, said the attraction has grown significantly each year. "It's a huge operation, which just keeps on growing every year," he said. Mr Francis worked as a scare actor at the park 16 years ago and applied in PrimEvil's second year.
The audition process includes what the attraction calls the 'scare train', where applicants place their hands on each other's shoulders, close their eyes, and experience attempted scares from team leaders. This element tests how applicants respond under pressure and whether they can stay in character during unsettling situations.
