Secret Service arrested a Venezuelan man near the White House after finding three firearms in a stolen vehicle.

Secret Service officers arrested a man near the White House on Thursday evening after discovering him acting suspiciously in a parked vehicle on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C.

The suspect, identified as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, is a Venezuelan national who entered the United States illegally through Texas in March 2024. According to the Department of Homeland Security, he was previously arrested by U.S. Border Patrol but was later released.

When Secret Service officers approached the vehicle, Chrinos allegedly told them that he heard voices in his head telling him to come to the nation's capital and kill President Trump. Officers subsequently discovered that the car had been reported stolen.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found three firearms—an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns—along with dozens of rounds of ammunition. Chrinos allegedly admitted to having weapons in the vehicle.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement: 'Thanks to our brave Secret Service officers, this illegal alien with three firearms in his vehicle was arrested near the White House before he could harm anyone. On top of threatening President Trump, he is an illegal alien from Venezuela who had no business being in our country in the first place.'

Chrinos has been charged with carrying a rifle outside of a home or business, three counts each of unlawful transportation of a firearm, unregistered firearms and unregistered ammunition, possession of certain dangerous weapons, carrying a pistol without a license, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft and receiving stolen property. He is currently in custody with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement holding a detainer.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran described the arrest as 'the latest example of Secret Service personnel relying on extensive training and experience to deescalate a volatile situation that posed an imminent threat to our protectees and other Americans.'
