A five-acre tulip attraction with 750,000 blooms will open near York in spring 2027.

A five-acre tulip attraction featuring 750,000 blooms across more than 100 varieties will open at Escrick Grange near York in spring 2027. The project is run by Farmer Copleys, the team behind the award-winning Tulip Festival at Pontefract, which was named Rural & Farm Event of the Year 2025.

Planting is due to begin this month, with more than 100 tulip varieties to be planted across the site by the farm team led by Jacob Copley. The fields will open to visitors in early April, when the tulips burst into colour. Visitors will be able to explore striking displays and immersive garden design set against the York countryside.

Heather Copley, co-founder of Farmer Copleys, said the team had seen strong interest in tulips over three successful seasons at Pontefract. 'The response to our Pontefract Tulip Festival has been incredible, and we wanted to build on that success by creating another opportunity for visitors further afield to enjoy the experience,' she said. 'York felt like the perfect place to bring that vision to life.'
