Bear wanders into California library early Wednesday morning

Summarised from New York Post's report · Updated 16 Oct, 03:57 · Archive

A bear entered Mammoth Lakes Library in California early Wednesday, wandering through the building before it opened to the public. Surveillance footage captured the animal moving around the library's upper floor, where carpeted walkways and shelves of books surrounded it.

The Mono County Office of Education noted the incident's timing coincided with the 100th anniversary of Winnie The Pooh's publication on 14 October. The agency joked in a social media post: 'We can only assume the new Li-BEAR-ian was looking for a copy of Winnie The Pooh.' Officials have not revealed what drew the bear inside or confirmed whether it found any food during its time in the building.
