Bletchingdon Silver Band performed famous television advertising songs at a concert in Oxfordshire on 11 October.

Bletchingdon Silver Band performed an afternoon of entertainment at Bletchingdon Village Hall on 11 October, featuring famous songs used in television advertising campaigns from the 1960s to the present day. The concert, which started at 4pm, was part of the band's regular programme of themed events.

The band performed pieces including 'I'd Do Anything For Love', which featured in a Pets at Home advertising campaign, Elton John's 'Your Song' from a John Lewis Christmas advert, and the Flash Gordon theme associated with Flash cleaning product commercials. Audience members also took part in a quiz to identify the songs, with the competition proving closely contested.

Laura Phipps and Nigel Holt tied for first place in the quiz and each received a box of chocolates as their prize. A band spokesperson said: 'Thank you to everyone who joined us for our As Seen On TV concert this afternoon. It was lovely to see so many of you and, hopefully, you all enjoyed the quiz element.'

The band has upcoming engagements including an Oktoberfest event at the local sports and social club, before its Christmas concert on 6 December. Bletchingdon Silver Band has been part of village life for more than a century.
