Sizewell B's new training wing won top honours at the Suffolk Joint Construction Committee awards dinner.
Sizewell B's new training wing and Chris Crabtree, a site manager at Gipping Construction, were among the winners at the Suffolk Joint Construction Committee Annual Dinner and Awards on Wednesday, 7 October at Trinity Park, Ipswich. The awards recognised achievements in craftsmanship, design and apprentice development. An extension to Blythburgh Church also received top honours.
Andy Laflin, SJCC chairman and managing director of Gipping Construction in Baylham near Ipswich, said the event was a success. He highlighted skills shortages, economic pressure and the need to invest in the industry's future talent. SJCC committee member James Potter hosted the evening and presented the awards.
Laflin said: 'Please save the date and start considering the projects, individuals and teams whose achievements deserve to be recognised.' The event raised money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices and St Elizabeth Hospice. Next year's awards dinner will take place on 7 October.
