NASA has shared Halloween-themed space images featuring skull shapes and eye-like cosmic objects.

NASA Universe has released a collection of Halloween-themed space images ahead of October 31. The gallery features cosmic objects that resemble spooky sights, including four eye-like observations and skull shapes scattered across the universe.

Among the images is the Sun, which resembles a grinning Halloween pumpkin with swirling plasma creating shapes resembling two eyes and a mouth. Another image shows what appears to be a screaming skull in the Perseus Cluster. A huge red eye-like shape can be seen as the planet Fomalhaut b orbits its parent star, and one image appears to show a gigantic face on Mars's surface.

NASA Universe said of the eye-like objects: 'Even though all of these cosmic objects are millions of light-years away, they can still send shivers down our spines when we find them staring back at us.' The images were compiled ahead of the Halloween season by NASA Universe and content agency SWNS.
