Leicester City winger Stephy Mavididi scored in Watford's 1-0 win against Lincoln City after holding talks with manager Alessio Dionisi.

Leicester City winger Stephy Mavididi scored for Watford in their 1-0 win against Lincoln City on Tuesday evening. The 28-year-old had endured a frustrating start to his season-long loan at the Championship club, having been restricted to just two starts and left on the bench for each of the last three matches.

Manager Alessio Dionisi revealed he had held talks with Mavididi before the match. 'It's normal when one player doesn't play, he's not happy,' Dionisi said. 'Now I'm happy for him because Steph played well and it's important to get the result.' Dionisi added that he had discussed Mavididi's position within the team's shape, saying: 'I spoke with him about his future, and I spoke about his position in our shape.' He expressed confidence in the player's abilities, describing him as 'a top player' for the club.
