Josh Widdicombe from Strictly Come Dancing has joined the new series of Michael McIntyre's BBC game show The Wheel.

Josh Widdicombe from Strictly Come Dancing has signed up for the new series of Michael McIntyre's BBC game show The Wheel. The show sees three contestants compete for a cash prize with the help of seven celebrity experts, each assigned a specialist subject ranging from sport and history to music and science.

The first episode of the new series will broadcast on Saturday, November 14, at 8pm. The initial line-up of celebrity guests includes Michael Ball, Jordan Banjo, Katherine Ryan, Isa Guha, Kate Garraway, Harriet Kemsley, Perri Kiely, and Matt Morsia.

Widdicombe will appear in the second episode alongside Italian Bach, Kerry Godliman, Trevor Nelson, Bez and Shaun Ryder, Angela Scanlon, and Alex Scott MBE. Additional celebrities are set to join the show over the coming weeks.

The Wheel was first broadcast in 2020. Michael McIntyre conceived the concept whilst in the bath, identifying a gap in the market for new game shows given the abundance of talent shows on television. The format proved practical during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it allowed celebrities and contestants to maintain social distance from one another during production.

McIntyre describes the show as 'a game show packed with huge stars, big laughs and a giant spinning wheel' in which 'contestants, guided by celebrity experts, answer their way to a fortune'.
