Alexander Nelson-Roberts, 56, was found guilty of three counts of exposure at Ipswich Crown Court following a trial.

Alexander Nelson-Roberts, 56, of High Street, Dunwich, was unanimously found guilty by a jury of three counts of exposure on Friday after a trial at Ipswich Crown Court. The jury acquitted him of a fourth count by majority verdict following around four hours of deliberation.

During the trial, jurors heard allegations that Nelson-Roberts exposed himself and carried out a sexual act in front of a woman visiting his office in October 2023, causing her to leave the premises. Prosecutors said a similar incident was alleged to have taken place when the woman returned in January 2024, prompting her to contact police. The court also heard evidence from a second woman who alleged she had regularly seen Nelson-Roberts walking around the workplace wearing a dressing gown with his genitals exposed.

Nelson-Roberts, who runs wine-related businesses with premises across Suffolk, denied all four counts throughout the trial. Giving evidence, he told jurors he had a history of mental health difficulties and had been under significant pressure at the time. He suggested he may have committed the offences without realising by being in a state of psychosis. He admitted to attending his workplace wearing a dressing gown on a number of occasions and accepted there had been a 'wardrobe malfunction' during one of the incidents.

Nelson-Roberts will return to Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing on 18 December.
