Summarised from 3 outlets · Updated 28 Oct, 06:58 · Archive

A £65 million motorway services on the M56 in Cheshire is recruiting 70 local producers for its farm shop and butchery.

Westmorland Farmshop & Co is seeking around 70 local suppliers for its new Tatton Services on the M56 in Cheshire. The £65 million development will open in spring 2028 and is being designed in the style of the established Tebay Services. It will create over 400 jobs.

The company is inviting farmers, grocers, food producers and craft businesses that grow, rear, make or craft their own products. It welcomes applications from those producing anything from exceptional food and drink to original art, clothing and housewares.

Dan Pearson, commercial director, said the company wants 'the unique, the interesting and the joyful, products made with care by people who have a story to tell'. He added that Tatton Services will be 'rooted in its surroundings, where customers can discover the area through what they eat, drink and take home'.

Pearson said the motorway location offers local producers 'the opportunity to reach a much wider audience'. He stated that Westmorland has been 'celebrating the small and special' for over 50 years and wants to build 'lasting relationships, helping our producers grow as we grow'.

The main building will centre around a kitchen and kitchen garden. Interested producers are invited to meet the company at an informal Meet the Buyer event on Thursday, November 19, from 10am to 3pm at Groobarb's Wild Farm, High Legh.
