Ninety volunteers from Taylor Wimpey West London helped improve Yateley Industries' facilities over the summer.

A team of 90 volunteers from Taylor Wimpey West London helped transform the site of Yateley Industries, a disability charity, with improvements carried out over the summer.

Yateley Industries supports disabled people with employment and training opportunities, running a factory and job coaching schemes, and providing residential accommodation. The charity employs 53 disabled people and supports 36 residents at its site, which includes a community hub where disabled and non-disabled people regularly work, eat, learn and participate together.

The volunteers cleared space for a new outdoor seating area and memorial garden, tidied the 3.25-acre site, dismantled and reconfigured the café counter to make room for a new coffee machine, and laid a concrete base for café decking. Maria Mannan, marketing, community and events fundraiser for Yateley Industries, said the team 'worked tirelessly and accomplished a tremendous amount during their volunteering, helping to bring our new outdoor seating area and dedicated memorial garden to life' despite the extreme heat. She added that the charity depends on community support to continue offering its vital services and praised the work as raising awareness about the organisation's mission.

The refreshed community spaces form part of a wider plan to enhance the charity's outdoor facilities. The volunteering work was coordinated through Community Matter Partnership, which matches corporate volunteers with charities.
