Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 21 Oct, 01:32 · Archive

A person wearing a Joe Biden mask ate a banana on a Texas home's doorbell camera on 18 October.

An unidentified person wearing a Joe Biden mask appeared on a doorbell camera outside a home in Watauga, Texas, about 35 miles west of Dallas, on 18 October around 8:05pm. The footage showed the individual opening their jacket to reveal a 'FREEDOM' T-shirt, touching the camera twice, then peeling and eating a banana through the mask before walking away.

Watauga police responded to a report of suspicious activity and reviewed the video at the scene. The police chief said the individual's 'choice of attire and snack may have raised a few eyebrows' but stated that neither 'appeared to have violated the law at this time.' Officers found no evidence of criminal offences and a search of the surrounding neighbourhood turned up no sign of the masked visitor.

Police said they were aware of social media posts describing similar sightings, but no additional reports had been made directly to police. Authorities cautioned that behaviour perceived as threatening could lead to dangerous confrontations, potentially resulting in serious injury, and urged residents to contact police about concerning behaviour rather than confronting individuals themselves.
