The BBC game show The Traitors is driving a surge in board game holiday bookings across the UK. Research by Parkdean Resorts found that 53 per cent of Brits have already taken a trip focused on group games, with 65 per cent considering one this season. The Lake District is among the best places for fans to bring the game show to life.

A Parkdean Resorts spokesman said the popularity of shows like The Traitors stems from their appeal for friends and family to gather and spend quality time together. Last winter saw many groups hold Traitors-inspired gatherings with friends, families and work colleagues, and the company expects a similar trend this year. Following the release of The Celebrity Traitors, bookings for these types of trips are expected to increase further in the run-up to Christmas.

Three in five people surveyed said they would be interested in hosting their own version of The Traitors during a weekend away. The UK offers numerous destinations suitable for such getaways, from the Scottish Highlands and Northumberland to Whitby, providing the backdrop fans seek for their games-inspired trips.
