Broadland District Council has approved plans for a new indoor sports hall and gym at the Nest sports facility in Horsford near Norwich. The development will also include a clothes recycling centre and improved access and parking.

The new sports hall will be a flexible space featuring eight badminton courts, a futsal pitch, basketball and netball courts and cricket nets. It will also include a climbing wall, large storage area and a dividing wall to create two separate courts for multi-use activities.

The Nest is the Norwich City Football Club Foundation's flagship community site. Since opening in 2017 on the former Anglian Windows Sports and Social Club site, three phases of development have been completed. These include a refurbished clubhouse, resurfaced pitches and accommodation. The site offers two floodlit 3G pitches, high-quality grass football pitches, a cafe, and conference and event spaces. Last year, the Store and the Box, a health and wellbeing hub and shop, were officially opened by Norwich City FC's first-team coach Jack Wilshere and head of goalkeeping Tony Roberts.
