The BBC crime drama This City Is Ours returns for series 2 on BBC One on October 25, starring James Nelson-Joyce, Shaun Evans and Álvaro Morte. The show has already been renewed for a third series.

Series 1 centred on Liverpudlian crime boss Ronnie Phelan, played by Sean Bean, and his desire to retire from criminal life after one final drug deal. This triggered a power struggle between his long-time right-hand man Michael Kavanagh (Nelson-Joyce) and Phelan's impetuous son Jamie (Jack McMullen).

Series 2 picks up from the end of series 1, with Michael and Diana arriving in their Spanish base. However, they are soon drawn back into the world of crime to answer questions around Ricardo's death and to deal with a new Colombian associate named Felipe. In Liverpool, meanwhile, a coup within the Phelan firm sends the business into disarray, and a newly released old-school gangster from Ronnie's past named Ozzie Thompson arrives in town looking for compensation or revenge.

Michael keeps a low profile as his investigation into Ricardo's murder leads him into difficult territory. He devises a plan that depends on Diana's cooperation, testing her loyalties. As Banksey's son Freddie forms an unlikely friendship with Ozzie and the Phelans explore business opportunities with a new supplier, more enemies lurk in the shadows.
