BBC crime drama This City Is Ours returns for a second series on October 25, starring James Nelson-Joyce.

This City Is Ours returns for series 2 on BBC One on October 25, with James Nelson-Joyce in the leading role. The series has already been renewed for a third instalment.

The first series centred on Liverpudlian crime boss Ronnie Phelan, played by Sean Bean, whose desire to retire from criminal life after one final drug deal triggers a power struggle between his long-time right-hand man Michael Kavanagh (Nelson-Joyce) and Phelan's son Jamie (Jack McMullen).

In series 2, Michael and Diana arrive in Spain but are soon drawn back into the criminal world to answer questions about a death. A new Colombian contact named Felipe enters the scene. In Liverpool, meanwhile, a coup within the Phelan firm creates chaos, and an old gangster from Ronnie's past named Ozzie Thompson, newly released from prison, arrives seeking compensation or revenge. Michael pursues a low-profile investigation into a murder that requires Diana's cooperation, testing her loyalties.
