President Trump dined Thursday with comedian Bill Maher, musician Kid Rock and sports commentator Stephen A Smith.

President Trump hosted a dinner on Thursday with comedian Bill Maher, musician Kid Rock and sports commentator Stephen A Smith at the White House. Trump told reporters Friday as he departed for Georgia that the evening was 'great' and 'informative'. He described his guests as 'smart people' and said the dinner 'lasted a long time' with discussion of various topics. Trump added that the group toured the White House ballroom during the visit.

Kid Rock called the gathering 'epic' during a Friday appearance on Fox News's 'Fox & Friends'. He said the four men agreed on at least one point: 'Socialism and communism have no place to have a foothold in our government.' The dinner was first reported on social media by Washington bar Madams Organ, which posted photos of Maher and Smith enjoying a live music performance there beforehand.

Trump characterised his guests as supporters despite their public personas. He said: 'Even though they have to sort of put on a certain little facade for their people, they like Trump, and I actually like them.' He specifically praised Maher, saying 'he likes me a lot more than people understand'. Smith has previously been critical of Trump; in June 2026, Trump called him a 'low IQ individual' and 'arrogant fool' after Smith criticised Trump's attendance at a New York Knicks game.
