Netflix has announced new cast members for The Gentlemen season three, including Lord of the Rings stars Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom.

Netflix has announced new cast members for The Gentlemen season three, which is now in production in the UK and Morocco. The new arrivals include Lord of the Rings stars Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom, alongside Emmy nominee Robert Carlyle, actor and filmmaker Dexter Fletcher, rapper Bugzy Malone, Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, Saffron Burrows and Ed Speleers, who previously starred in Downton Abbey.

Returning cast members include Theo James as Eddie, Kaya Scodelario as Susie, Ray Winstone as Susie's father Bobby, Joely Richardson as Sabrina and Vinnie Jones as Geoffrey. The show follows Duke Eddie Horniman as he unexpectedly inherits his late father's country estate, which houses an underground cannabis empire. In season three, Eddie and Susie will embark upon their 'most audacious project yet: building a casino in the Middle East', though the outlets note that 'with danger lurking around every corner, it remains to be seen whether the Duke's unchecked ambition has finally gone too far'.

Creator Guy Ritchie has said that 'the ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight'. The announcement comes after previous speculation that the Duchess of Sussex was in talks for a role in the show, though her name was not among the cast announced.
