West Virginia is releasing a new license plate featuring nine cryptids including Mothman and Flatwoods Monster, designed by artist Jesse Corlis.

West Virginia's Division of Motor Vehicles is launching a new license plate on 2 November 2026 featuring nine cryptids from the state. The design includes Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, Bigfoot, Sheepsquatch, Batboy, Veggie Man, Werewolf, Ogua and Grafton Monster, according to the DMV press release.

The plate was designed by Jesse Corlis, a graphic artist who worked at the Kanawha City DMV headquarters. Corlis also designed several other West Virginia license plates, including the popular Pollinators plate known as the 'Bee plate'. Corlis passed away in 2023 before the cryptids plate was completed.

DMV Commissioner Everett Frazier said the department is 'proud to see his work celebrated through this unique design'. The commissioner paid tribute to Corlis's 'creativity, talent and contributions to the West Virginia license plate program'.
