Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O'Connor are among finalists screen testing this weekend for the next James Bond role.

The search for James Bond's successor has moved into the final stages. Callum Turner and Jack Lowden will screen test this weekend, The Hollywood Reporter revealed, with 'The Crown' actor Josh O'Connor also expected to test. At least four test offers have been given out, and up to five actors may ultimately test for the role.

Jacob Elordi, who was reported to be in the mix earlier in the year, will not be testing. Jack O'Connell, also previously rumoured to be in consideration, is not among the finalists either. Amazon has not officially confirmed an age range for the role, though sources told Variety in April that the new Bond will be younger than previous actors in the part.

Denis Villeneuve, director of 'Dune', will helm the next Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios, which acquired the creative rights to 007 from the Broccoli family in 2025. The producers and half-siblings Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson had stewarded the franchise for decades, overseeing all 25 main films. The next Bond film is expected to arrive around 2028 if production begins next year.
