One of the worst examples highlighted was the clockwise stretch between junctions 14 and 15, heading towards the M4, which took an average of 9.2 minutes at 4pm compared with just three minutes at 7pm.
Further north, travelling anticlockwise between junctions 17 and 16, from Mill End towards Denham, took an average of 15.6 minutes at 7am, compared with 6.6 minutes at 7pm. The M25 provides a vital route for Essex motorists, running through the west of the county near Epping and providing a major connection towards the Dartford Crossing.
