T&R Theakston has launched a limited-edition beer called Stand Fast to honour the Armed Forces, selling out within 24 hours.

T&R Theakston, based in Masham, North Yorkshire, has launched a limited-edition beer in honour of the Armed Forces. The 3.9 per cent ABV British bitter, called Stand Fast, sold out within 24 hours of release. All profits from cask sales are being donated to the Armed Forces Benevolent Fund.

The beer is brewed using ale and crystal malts, wheat and caramel, and is hopped with Challenger, Goldings and Target varieties. Its name comes from a long-held military expression and is intended to reflect the values of resilience and comradeship.

Will Theakston, the brewery's sales manager and a sixth-generation family member who served as a captain in the Queen's Royal Lancers, said: 'Remembrance is something that means a great deal to me personally, but Stand Fast is about more than remembering. The beer looks to recognise the commitment and sacrifice of those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the families and communities who stand behind them.' The launch coincides with the brewery's preparations to celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2027.
