David Jackson has left the global accountancy firm Crowe to join Cumbrian practice Saint & Co as audit manager.
David Jackson has left Crowe, the ninth-largest accountancy network in the world, after spending much of his 12-year career there. He has joined Cumbrian practice Saint & Co as audit manager. Based previously at Crowe UK's Cheltenham office in Gloucestershire, Mr Jackson relocated to Cumbria with his wife, who is originally from the region.
Mr Jackson said he was attracted to Saint & Co's reputation and expertise. 'The company has a feel that it cares for each of its clients and it's a larger business than people might initially realise,' he said. 'We always wanted to move to Cumbria.'
He was particularly drawn to the firm's client base of charities and small and medium-sized companies. 'In recent years at Crowe, I'd been dealing with much larger entities,' he said. 'That's enjoyable in some ways, but it can be quite impersonal at times. It's nice to get to know the clients properly and to understand what the owners and directors really want from their business, or what the trustees' aims are for a charity.'
During his time at Crowe, Mr Jackson managed the audit of a business with a £300 million turnover and worked across sectors including retail, manufacturing and international non-governmental organisations. One notable assignment saw him spend three years as audit senior for a UK-based INGO operating in Nepal and India that was building schools and water sanitation projects.
