A one-year-old cat from Hampshire suffered two pelvic fractures and a dislocated leg after being hit by a car.

Mollie, a one-year-old cat from Hampshire, suffered two pelvic fractures and a dislocated leg after being hit by a car. She escaped from her home on Manor Road five weeks ago and underwent surgery at Cedar Vets three days after she was found. Surgeons used screws to repair her pelvis and reshaped her hip joint to prevent further dislocations.

Mollie's owner, Vicky Kuhn, 44, from Alton, is appealing for help to cover nearly £5,000 in outstanding veterinary bills and ongoing care. 'A big hurdle myself or Mollie do not have the tools to overcome is the costs of surgery and care that are still outstanding, around £5,000,' Vicky said. Her carer, who found Mollie, set up a GoFundMe page, which has raised less than £500 so far.

Mollie is now recovering at home, confined to a crate for six weeks. Despite the severity of her injuries, her recovery has exceeded expectations, with the cat showing remarkable progress at a check-up just two weeks after surgery. Vicky was particularly concerned when vets feared Mollie might not be able to urinate due to her injuries, but this complication did not develop.
