A man in his 40s has been charged with multiple offences after his red Ford Falcon crashed into several vehicles on a Mitchell Freeway on-ramp in Warwick, Western Australia, on Tuesday morning.

Police said the vehicle was first flagged following an outstanding domestic violence incident. The car was spotted at about 8am on Excellence Drive in Wangara, and police allege the driver then rammed a marked police car in the Ford before fleeing. The same vehicle was sighted near Warwick Road before entering the Mitchell Freeway on-ramp where it crashed into cars belonging to members of the public.

Another officer attempted to smash the passenger-side window before the driver exited the vehicle. He was then dragged to the ground and restrained by multiple officers, with one jumping over the Ford to reach his colleagues.

WA Police stated that officers were not engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle, including at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
