Dozens of Transdev buses across Yorkshire have been decorated with giant poppies to honour the Armed Forces.
Dozens of buses across Yorkshire operated by Transdev have been decorated with giant poppies in tribute to the Armed Forces. The display forms part of the company's Poppy Appeal campaign.
Transdev, which operates services across Yorkshire and Lancashire, is offering free travel to serving and former members of the Armed Forces on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, and Remembrance Day, 11 November. The company is also supporting the British Royal Legion by encouraging passengers to donate to the charity.
Henri Rohard, managing director of Transdev, said: 'This Remembrance Weekend and Armistice Day, we are reminded of the sacrifice that the men and women of our Armed Forces have made for our freedom. We hope that by displaying these large poppies on our buses, many of our customers will join us in remembering those who serve and will donate to charitable causes that support our veterans. And for those current and former personnel who use our buses, we hope the free travel option allows them to visit friends, family, and local remembrance events on both of these important days.'
Transdev has also joined the UK Ministry of Defence's Career Transition Partnership scheme, which helps service personnel move into civilian jobs. The company regularly recruits engineers and drivers across the region.
