Fifteen rising stars aged 30 to 45 from the food and farming sector have been selected for the Oxford Farming Conference's Inspire Programme.

Fifteen rising stars from across the food and farming sector have been selected for the Oxford Farming Conference's Inspire Programme, a prestigious leadership scheme designed for emerging leaders aged 30 to 45 working in food, farming and the wider rural economy. The scheme offers first-time attendance at the Oxford Farming Conference, leadership development and networking opportunities.

The 2027 cohort includes a seventh-generation livestock farmer from County Down, a pig vet originally from Brazil, and professionals working in agricultural consultancy, technology and industry representation. Ellie Edwards, an NFU assistant county adviser based in the Midlands who grew up on an arable farm in South Derbyshire, has also been selected.

Kelly Hewson-Fisher, OFC director and head of rural research at Savills, said the calibre of applicants reflected industry appetite for such opportunities. She noted that many participants already manage farm businesses, lead teams or represent farmers, and the scheme gives them time to consider how they want to develop in those roles.

Since its launch, more than 145 people have taken part in the Inspire programme. Many alumni have gone on to launch new ventures, take on senior roles, or collaborate on cross-industry projects.
