Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents broke the arm of a US citizen during a detention in Long Beach, California on Saturday.

ICE agents detained Ricardo Gonzalez, a US citizen, in Long Beach on Saturday. Video of the encounter shows Gonzalez handcuffed and face down in a gutter with officers kneeling on his back. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries including a broken arm.

According to Gonzalez's daughter Leslie, he was riding an e-bike when struck by an unmarked ICE vehicle. She said in an Instagram post that he was tasered twice and pinned to the ground. In video from the scene, Gonzalez says "My arm is broken, stop!" while asking for medical assistance. Long Beach police responded to a call from ICE, who said their vehicles were being vandalized and someone needed medical attention.

Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson told CNN that when police arrived, Gonzalez was detained on a kerb and injured. Richardson filed a formal complaint to the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General demanding an investigation. Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents Long Beach, called the encounter a "brutal attack" and posted that the videos should concern the country.
