Group Escape Houses has opened Howgills Barn in Sedbergh, Cumbria, its largest property, sleeping 24 people across eight en-suite bedrooms.

Group Escape Houses has opened Howgills Barn in Sedbergh, Cumbria, as its largest property, accommodating up to 24 guests under one roof. The barn features eight en-suite bedrooms, predominantly bunk rooms, and guests have exclusive use of the five-acre property.

Facilities include a hot tub, games room, Sky TV mezzanine and outdoor space. Outside, there is a sun terrace, firepit and gas barbecue. The property is located on the Cumbrian edge of the Howgill Fells within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, approximately ten minutes from junction 37 of the M6.

The company specialises in whole-house stays for celebrations, family gatherings, retreats and group getaways. Dan Harley, the founder, explained that the aim was to provide groups with somewhere they could stay together rather than splitting between different properties. He said: 'What big groups want is one house and one table everyone fits round, not three cottages or a hotel corridor.'

Harley added that the location appeals to groups from across the region, noting: 'A barn like Howgills does exactly that: 24 people under one roof, a hot tub and five acres, and ten minutes off the M6, so friends driving up from Manchester, Leeds or Glasgow can all get there on a Friday night.'

A midweek stay costs £1,100 a night, equivalent to around £91.67 per person for a two-night stay divided among 24 guests. A two-night weekend stay starts from £2,800, or approximately £116.67 per person.
