LeBron James delivered his best performance for the Philadelphia 76ers in his 24th NBA season, leading them to a 98-93 NBA Cup victory over the defending champion New York Knicks on Friday.

James scored 20 points with nine rebounds and eight assists, nearly achieving a triple-double. He made key plays throughout the game, bullying past Mikal Bridges in the post for a bucket in the first half and chasing down OG Anunoby for a blocked shot in the third quarter.

The 76ers had built a 14-point lead but let it slip away in the fourth quarter. James stepped up at the crucial moment, scoring the go-ahead bucket with 1:10 remaining. V.J. Edgecombe then buried an insurance three-pointer to secure the four-point lead, and James sealed the win with a tip-in. Coach Nick Nurse said of the performance: 'He's been good, but that was his best game for sure.' James, who turns 42 in two months, tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the fifth-oldest player in NBA history to record a 20-point game.
