KFC has opened its first restaurant in Witham at Gershwin Park, creating 40 new jobs for the area. The branch launched today offering seating for 36 diners and on-site parking for 72 cars. It serves KFC's full menu alongside a limited-edition Mozzamelt range, including the Mozzamelt Burger and Mozza Dipping Feast, until November 8.

The restaurant includes delivery options, a dedicated waiting area for drivers, and a Kwench counter serving iced coffees, boba refreshers and sparkling lemonades. It is one of the first KFC restaurants in the country to feature the chain's new design.

New jobs created include team member, team leader and management roles. KFC says all new employees will receive training and development opportunities.

Dan Marshall, head of franchise operations at KFC UK & Ireland, said opening in Witham was 'a huge moment' for the company. 'We know there are plenty of fried chicken fans in the area, so we're really looking forward to giving them a new place to get their hands on our Original Recipe, while creating 40 new jobs for the local community too,' he said.

The Witham branch is run by Kefco, a KFC franchise partner with more than 50 years' experience. Kefco currently operates 19 restaurants across Essex.

Marshall added that the chain has 'big plans to bring KFC to even more communities across the UK', describing the Witham opening as 'brilliant' and 'part of that journey'.
